Blade and Soul Leveling Guide

Blade and Soul has a lot of interesting features, and there is much information that is not available on the official website. As with other games, leveling up involves a combination of completing quests and grinding on monsters. In this article, we will discuss some handy ways of leveling through the early game. Blade and Soul is a game with an engaging story, so you probably do not want to skip cutscenes and blaze through the game as fast as possible, at least not the first time through.

But if you really are a person who wants to max out blade and soul leveling fast or you are past your first character, then this guide is for you. If you are just looking to go as fast as possible, then you can grind on monsters and get it done in less than twenty hours. This guide will try to provide a balance between speed of progression and how interesting it is to move through the game. After all, you want to enjoy your time in the game.

Before getting into the Blade and Soul guide, it is important to know that the experience level is only part of your character’s strength. You also need to improve your weapon, soul shield, and accessories, in that order. You will get your main story weapon and upgrade it over time- don’t worry about trying to max it out, just build it up enough to keep pace with the dungeons. As for skills, look up a guide for your class to decide what skills to aim for, as this leveling guide will just assume you are improving your skills in a way that allows you to keep up with the mobs. Finally, being a Premium player and having the Dragon Soup item from the cash shop will boost your experience gains, so you can do better that way.

First of all, when you start out, you will need to go through a tutorial that will leave you at about level 3 before the world opens up a little. You can use this time to get acquainted with the interface and controls if you do not know them already. When you are done, there is an assortment of story quests and blue quests in the starting area. That should get you to around level 10. Complete everything in the area. Once there is nothing left to do, you should head over to Dreamdrift. From about level 10 to about level 13, you can grind on the monsters here. Depending on your skill with your class and the skills you have available, then you can take on many mobs at once.

leveling 5Once you reach 13, you can return to questing. Head to the Kilns, Wispwater Spring, and similar nearby areas to pick up quests. They can take you all the way to 22. Once you reach that level, it is time to return to grinding on mobs. The best location for this is Wraithbloom Meadows. This area can be a challenge, so don’t take on more mobs than you can handle. On the other hand, the more you fight at once, the faster you will level up. Get to 25 and then continue with the main quest line for a little while. You can level from 25 all the way up to 31 using mobs in Vulture’s Dig and Jackal’s Dig.

This might be a good time to level up your weapon and gear if you have not done so already. You can do some yellow quests to get this done. Once you have brought it up to an appropriate level, get to level 32 with the mobs in front of Jaofang Village. Then move over to Yes Man Fight Club for 33. It is in Razorwing Ravine. Next, move spots again and grind up to 37 or 38 in the Boneyards. These mobs are pretty strong and are level 36, so be careful at first. To get the most mobs in the area, complete the Chapter 37 quest and leave the Chapter 38 main story quest open. Once you get to 37 or 38 from the mobs, finish off the Cinderlands quests, and that should take you to 38 or 39 and you can move on.

leveling 7Move through the main story until you reach Chapter 3, Moonwater, in the Brightstone area. Then go into the Soulstone Mines and grind on the mobs there. You can open the main quest and gather all the mobs together and kill them at once. Finish the main quest when you are about to reach level 40. Next, head to Predator’s Den and grind the bear mobs. Once you reach level 41, stop and complete the main questline until you get level 43. At 43, you start your last phase of mob grinding at Forsaken Crash Site. Gather the mobs together and use the bomb to kill them quickly. That should take to you 45, and from then on it is up to you such as doing a dungeon run.

The speed of leveling here is variable based on your class. Strong AoE classes can finish this in a day or so, and ones that lack AoE and are weak on defenses will take longer, because you can pull less mobs at a time. But this provides a good balance and a good progression that any class can complete. It is possible to grind to 45 faster using mobs only, especially if you buy the Dragon Soup booster, but that is also rather boring. This way, you can get to 45 pretty fast and see a lot of the game and the story along the way.

How to Create a Blade and Soul Class Build

Blade and Soul is coming out of its beta phase and getting a full North American launch on January 19. However, there are many features of the game and important information that are still unclear. The official websites are lacking and the game is also in flux, so much of the information changes as the development team releases patches. For example, class balance and class powers change with every patch. In this guide, we will talk about how to decide on a build for your chosen class and what you need to keep in mind as you do so. This is most helpful early on when you do not know the game very well. As you gain more experience and level up your character, you will learn more about how you like to play and what works in the game.

Like other MMOs, Blade and Soul has PvP and PvE combat. Arena PvP involves equalized gear, so your choice of skills and your skill with your class are very important. There is battlefield PvP on the way which will pit two groups of six players against each other, and that will involve gear, but of course skill choices will still matter. The PvE combat is both solo and group-based, so you might need to have gear and skills that can support fellow party members.

In terms of balance, all of the classes are strong. This is particularly true in PvE: every class can do well and level up quickly, although classes with AoE will be able to do it faster because they can pull more mobs at once. The PvP balance changes with every patch. For example, as of this writing the Summoner is quite strong and popular, but that might change. All of the classes are viable. Your experience will be very different if you are playing the game as a level 20 character vs a level 50 one, because the level 50 character will have all of their skills and the player will have more experience. So keep in mind that a build is a long-term proposition: it isn’t fully operational until you have all of the skills, although a good build will still be strong and fun to use before you hit the level cap.

At first, you will want a build that does well for both PvE and PvP, or is even PvE focused. This lets you learn the game and progress quickly. Look for AoE, crowd control, and defensive moves that can keep you alive. You will need to deal with bosses as well as masses of mobs. If you are planning to use a party often, you might want some support skills as well. It is a common mistake to see a top-level player post their PvP build and want to emulate that right away. But you will have more fun in the game if you instead try to make a good, versatile build that serves you well in many situations. You should do research about your character. Learn about a strong mechanic your class can use, like the Sunflower to Big Sunflower to Saturation combo that a Summoner can use.

The next thing to know is how the skill system works in gameplay. Some of the skills in the game are just one-offs. Others, though, have trees. You can upgrade them along one of several branches, which are also called forms. Some skills have only one form, while others have up to four. You can only take one form of a skill. Some of the forms are similar in that one might offer better regeneration while another has more damage. Other times, two forms might be totally different skills with different mechanics. So not only do you need to choose which skills to use and where to spend your skill points, but you also have to decide on which form of each skill to use. Sometimes, this is a very simple decision and you can switch back and forth between a few similar forms depending on the situation. Other times, the form will be key to your build as seen from this blade and soul beginner guide. Knowing the difference is the key to building a good class, and that comes from game knowledge.

Every class has their own strengths and weaknesses, and in most cases there are several ways to build a class. For example, the Assassin has two special stances: the decoy stance and the stealth stance. There are two core skills that work with these stances: Lightning Kill for decoy stance and Shadow Kill for stealth stance. You have to choose one of them, and they have a big impact on what other moves you should choose and have different playstyles.

All of this adds up to say that the most important thing to do is learn your class. Do your research and ask questions. You do not have to copy someone else’s build, but you should read them so that you can see why people justify their skill choices. Every build has overarching goals and game plans for how to manage encounters. Do the research, watch some videos, and decide what kinds of things look like fun. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things, either. Have fun with it and eventually you will learn what skills work together and how you can improve on your original ideas.

Blade and Soul Guide to Crafting and Guild Systems

The crafting system in Blade and Soul is extremely interesting because so much of it is automated. While other RPGs send you around the game world collecting ingredients and leveling up skills to craft items, Blade and Soul has a guild system where you pay NPCs to do the work for you automatically. This is a great idea, because it removes much of the grind of other games. Rather than needing to grind up many different ingredients, the grind is transferred over to gold, which becomes a more important resource than in other games. This post will provide a basic guide to crafting in Blade and Soul. http://www.bladeandsoulguide.org/ has a very good explanation on this.

Seven Gathering Guilds and Seven Crafting Guilds

The basic idea is that there are seven gathering guilds and seven crafting guilds. At any time, your character can maintain a contract with two of each kind of guild. Once you have a contract, you can place an order for an item to be crafted or gathered. After you do that, you get a small window near the bottom of your interface that shows you how long it will be until the order is complete. There will be a progress bar showing the time left and a small image showing you what you are due to obtain. Once the bar fills, it will vanish and a new button labeled “Receive” will appear. If you click on that button, then you will get your item or items. After that, another button appears in the same place labeled “Repeat.” The Repeat button will immediately duplicate your order.

Progression System in Crafting

There is a progression system for the guilds. Each guild has its own experience meter, which is called trust. The more you place an order from a guild, the more trust you will get with that guild. You must obtain a high level of trust in order to craft or gather high-ranking items. However, you can only build trust with the guilds with which you have contracts. If you want to switch guilds, you can end an existing contract, but that means you will forfeit the trust and connection with that guild. So you need to make choices about the best combination of guilds for your character.

Every crafting guild requires ingredients from two different gathering guilds. As a result, you will need to obtain some crafting materials from the auction house or buy blade and soul gold to purchase it. The gathering guilds require some work to get going. This is because you need to find “samples”: unique items for ingredients. You need a sample for each ingredient to unlock it. They are located out in the world, but you only need to find each one once.

The best way to decide which guilds to choose is to think about crafting first, and then choose gathering guilds to reflect your preferences in crafting. The remainder of this post will talk about the different crafting guilds and their benefits, as well as which gathering guilds they are connected to. Note that the names may change due to translation changes.

Acquired Taste (food guild)

This guild is connected to the fish and grain gathering guilds. Acquired Taste is not that great- the items they produce are not worth much money and are not valuable in battle. They have one good item to sell- the Ceremonial Meal, which is necessary for the Purification Jar, an important quest item. But it is not easy to craft, takes time, and is not as profitable as other items.

Merry Potters (pottery guild)

The Merry Potters are connected to the grain and tree guilds. This is a very nice guild for profits. The items are not that useful in themselves, but many of them are critical for crafting top-tier items from other crafting guilds. So players of every level are in the market for the Potters’ items, meaning the guild is a great source of income. The bowls and refiners are always in demand.

Soul Wardens (transformation stones)

The Soul Wardens are connected to the food and tree guilds. This guild makes a variety of stone ingredients, and that puts them in an odd position. On the one hand, early on their crafts take a large investment of time and money to create and are not very useful. But in the late game, their high-end Moonwater recipes are incredibly valuable, and the soulshields also become good for fusing. So this guild starts off weak, but becomes one of the best guilds for income and benefits later on.

Earthseers (charms)

The Earthseers are connected to the fish and herb guilds. They are a bit like the reverse of the Soul Wardens. They have an extremely useful early-game recipe- the unsealing charm. Lots of low to mid level players want these to unseal their items. However, later on, their charms are not very useful. The Banishing Charm is another Purification Jar ingredient, but there just is not much here.

Silver Cauldron (potions)

Silver Cauldrons are connected to the herb and fish guilds, just like Earthseers. They are pretty bad, though, because potions are very common in-game. Later on, they have a few high-level recipes that are a little valuable, but not enough to make it a good guild.

Radiant Ring (jewels and jewelry)

This is connected to the ore and mineral guild. The Radiant Ring’s most useful recipe is keys for early-game players. They are worth money and also good for you to use yourself. Some of the jewels are good for enhancing other gear. Other than that, Radiant Ring has little to offer, and keys are not useful in late game.

Forgekeepers (forged items)

The Forgekeepers are connected to the ore and mineral guilds as well. Their most useful recipes are repair tools. These are useless in early game. In the late game of your blade and soul leveling, you will break even on them, so they are only useful for your own usage. They are good to have, but you won’t make a profit with Forgekeepers.

Arena PvP System in Blade and Soul Explained

When it comes to skill-based competitive play, nothing can come close to the ultimate experience of the Arena. There are many varied ways on how you can challenge other martial artists in PvP combat. These can be from simply entering the Arena and competing against other martial artists to testing your skills in World PvP equipped with a Faction uniform.

Enter the Arena by pressing F9. At the start, equipment and character level for all players will be equalized. For instance, in order to be able to compete against a max level player, a level 10 player will be scaled up. However, reaching max level should be a priority if you are serious about Arena competition.

To provide the most even and fair competition possible, the Arena system will match you up with an opponent of similar skill. Meaning there will be no different when fighting with people wearing high level equipment from buying blade and soul gold. There is also another option if you’d rather practice your martial skills and not affect your ranking. At the bottom of the Arena Lobby, select the Sparring option and enter your opponent’s character name. Keep in mind that names are case sensitive.

Your character will be transferred to the Dueling Grounds as soon as you opponent has been chosen. Prior to starting the fight, you will enter a 30 second preparation period. To contend against your opponent, skill points can be adjusted as you see fit. To begin the round before the preparation timer runs out, press Shift +F once you’re ready for battle.

Usually, there will be best of three matches to Arena combats. With this system, each round will be determined by either the first player to reduce their opponent’s health to zero. If neither does, the total amount of damage dealt within three minutes. To win the match, you only need to survive two rounds.

Zen Beans, the PvP currency, can be gained through most forms of PvP, including PvP daily quests. By winning in Arenas and rather than losing, you can significantly get more Zen Beans. Rewards such as skill upgrades, crafting, and upgrade materials can be bought with Zen Beans. The biggest rewards will come from ranked competitive Seasons though.
